Ownword Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Ownword is provided by idealink, inc. (“Ownword,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Ownword is designed as a private, offline-first ledger for small daily promises. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, where it is stored, and the limited situations in which information may leave your device.

1. Information stored on your device

Ownword stores the information you enter and generate in the app locally on your device. This may include:

Ownword does not require an account and does not operate a cloud service for this information. We cannot view or retrieve the promise and ledger content stored on your device.

Pledge amounts are symbolic personal notes. Ownword does not collect, hold, charge, transfer, or settle real money in connection with a pledge.

2. In-App Purchases

Ownword offers an optional one-time In-App Purchase that unlocks unlimited ongoing promises.

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card number, bank account details, or Apple Account credentials.

The app receives limited product and transaction status information from Apple so it can verify whether Unlimited access is available. This information is used only to provide the purchased feature. Ownword does not send purchase records to a developer-operated server.

Apple processes App Store transactions under its own privacy terms and account settings.

3. Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, Ownword asks iOS for notification permission and schedules a local notification on your device.

Ownword does not use a server to send reminder notifications. You can change or disable reminders at any time in Ownword or in iOS Settings.

4. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Ownword does not include third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs.

We do not:

5. Support communications

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, which may include your email address, message, screenshots, device details, or diagnostic context.

Support communications are voluntary and are used only to respond to your request, investigate issues, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate business records. Please do not include sensitive promise or ledger content unless it is necessary for your support request.

We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or as required by law. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting ownword@idealink.us.

6. Device and system backups

Ownword does not provide its own cloud synchronization or backup service.

Depending on your device and Apple settings, iOS or an Apple backup service may include Ownword’s local app data in a device backup. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by Ownword.

7. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Information may be handled by:

These parties process information under their own terms or appropriate service obligations.

8. Data retention and deletion

Promise and ledger information remains on your device until you delete it.

You can:

Deleting the app does not necessarily remove copies that may remain in a device backup controlled by Apple or the user.

App Store purchase history and refund records are controlled by Apple. Ownword cannot delete or modify Apple’s transaction records.

For support correspondence held by us, contact ownword@idealink.us.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection.

Because Ownword’s promise and ledger content remains on your device, we generally do not possess that content and cannot provide a server-side copy of it. You control it directly through the app and your device.

For requests concerning support correspondence or other information you have sent to us, contact ownword@idealink.us.

10. Children’s privacy

Ownword is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the applicable jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, contact ownword@idealink.us.

11. Security

Ownword minimizes privacy risk by keeping promise and ledger information on the device and by not requiring an account or developer-operated backend.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple Account, backups, and device passcode.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Ownword’s features, legal requirements, or data practices change.

We will update the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on the website.
